Emotional CPR Training

About eCPR

What is eCPR?

Emotional CPR (eCPR) is a community-based education program that teaches people how to support someone experiencing emotional distress or crisis. It is built around three simple, human practices:

C = Connecting - Deep listening, presence, and attunement, meeting someone where they’re at, without judgement or agenda.

P = emPowering - Supporting the person to reconnect with their own inner wisdom, voice, and agency, rather than stepping in to fix or direct.

R = Revitalising - Helping a person rediscover hope, re-engage with community or loved ones, and reconnect with routines that support healing and wellness.

eCPR was developed by leaders with lived experience of emotional crisis and recovery. The approach is heart‑to‑heart, trauma‑informed, culturally attuned, and centred on dignity.

It assumes something powerful: People in crisis are communicating. And they are doing the best they can with what they have. Our role is to be with them, listen, and support their own path back toward connection and vitality.
